Debbie and Adam got married a couple of weeks ago at The Milwards House Estate in Laughton, East Sussex. It felt like the first day of spring. The weather was simply stunning, with just the right amount of scattered clouds in the perfectly blue sky.

Debbie got ready at home whilst Adam prepared at his parents. He then took his groomsmen and a few guests on a short bus ride up the A27 to Laughton.

Debbie arrived at Milwards in a very fine car belonging to Royalton Cars. Her gorgeous dress was by designer Sophia Tolli, brought from Isabella Grace in Tunbridge Wells. Her shoes were by Rainbow club, bought from John Lewis. Make-up was by the very talented Cara Luck from MAC and her hair from the equally amazing Carla Balt. The beautiful flower bouquets came from Go Botanica in Hove.

Afterwards the reception was held at their friends barn. All the decorations in the barn and marquee were hand made by Debbie herself. I so loved the yellow colour theme, it gave a real feeling that spring had begun and we had the most perfect weather for it all too.

If you want to view their online gallery then please do get in touch. You can also buy prints online should you wish to.

A gorgeous spring Wedding at The Milward’s Estate…

A super cool, bohemian London Wedding with doughnuts and cowboy boots…

Actually the title of this blog should be “A super cool, bohemian London Wedding with doughnuts, cowboy boots, an Officer and a Gentlemen, leather jackets & just abit of bling”. Its hard to describe but totally amazing. Every aspect of the day flowed smoothly and effortlessly into the next. That comes from great organisation and I’m such a fan of that.

The ceremony was at Guy’s Hospital chapel which meant alot to Cara as she studied medicine here at Kings College. There were some amazing places to shoot here afterwards as you’ll see from the covered courtyard shots. Then Cara and Chris led the way with ALL their guests along the busy streets to the ever so bustling Borough Market. What an amazingly lively place. Especially as it was a Saturday lunch time and Borough Market is all about food!

We stopped at their friends doughnut shop Monmouth. Clearly one of the most popular places around given the massive queue outside and trailing off down the street. But luckily this was all in the plan so everything was pre-arranged. OMG these doughnuts were to die for. I couldn’t resist the kind offer of one and then regretted the fact that I couldn’t eat it and hold a camera at the same time. After this Cara and Chris took all their guests for a walk through the hectic market and out into London Bridge. Then it was just a short walk past the train station and back to their hotel The London Hilton for a quick warm up. The views from here of Tower Bridge were just stunning so we had to get all the guests out for yet another walk before we got taxi’s across town for the evening reception.

The evening was just all about food! A familiar theme of the day. There was an amazingly presented EIGHT course menu, interspersed with witty speeches and wine. All set in the trendy Lyle’s of London. The tea building on Shoreditch high street.

Thats me just describing the day but what I haven’t mentioned is just how beautiful Cara looked and what she wore. Her vintage inspired dress was ‘Ambrosia’ from Claire Pettibone Couture. Her gorgeous cowboy boots were from ‘Corral’. I’ve never shot a bride wearing cowboy boots under her dress before and it SO worked. It didn’t just look cool but also helped with the long walk around London and the fact it was actually freezing cold. Did I mention it was mid February. I have to say Chris looked pretty dapper too in his uniform – complete with sword!!! This obviously got loads of attention from kids at the market.

Anyway, just see for yourself below and if you want to see their online gallery, or buy any prints please do get in touch…002_TERIV_CARACHRISBLOG 003_TERIV_CARACHRISBLOG 001_TERIV_CARACHRISBLOG 004_TERIV_CARACHRISBLOG

Shooting in the streets of Brighton…

I met Debbie and Adam at Browns in Brighton on Saturday afternoon for their engagement shoot. My 2nd shoot of this kind on the same day. You’d have thought I’d have been repeating myself and feeling a bit jaded from doing it all over again. Far from it. Brighton offers so much scope when creating a shoot like this. Mix the location with the couples personalities and fine tune it with the way we get on together – you’ve got a perfect recipe for a unique photoshoot thats personal and bespoke. No two shoots are ever the same, even if they do cover the same theme and ground.

Check out their shoot here and don’t forget, this doesn’t have to be a pre-wedding / engagement shoot. This kind of shoot can easily be for couples (who haven’t just got engaged) & even families. Contact me for more information…

An Engagement Shoot in Brighton

Its that time of year, ahead of the many fabulous Weddings I have this summer, that I get to meet couples and get to know them via the magic of an engagement shoot. I say the magic of one because they sound cheesy, they sound soppy but they are no way in the slightest. I love the relaxed, easy style and not only is it a great way for the couple to get used to having a camera follow them around but we also always get to know each other really well ahead of their big day, and of course we always have a laugh.

Remember this kind of shoot would also suit couples, married already or not, or even families, so please do get in touch and I’ll give you all the details.

Cara and Chris are getting married at the end of February in London, they are set to have just the COOLEST Wedding EVER!!! So look out for that one on here soon. The last shot here was a little embarrassing but yes Chris did propose the Cara on this exact spot – how lovely is that xxx

An Engagement Shoot at The De La Warr in Bexhill

Whenever I book an engagement shoot I always ask for it to just be penciled in to begin with. If we do this it means neither of us will feel bad if we have to reschedule due to bad weather. Sometimes though, despite the bad weather we still have to stick to the plan, as in this case because John is in the Navy and getting leave is obviously very hard.

So we braved the freezing rain and arranged to meet inside at The De la Warr Museum in Bexhill. I love this building although I must confess to never actually seeing what the museum is showing off, its more the building and location that I love.

Marie and John are getting married at Battle Abbey in April so this was a fabulous way for us to get together and get comfortable with each other. It got them used to me being cheeky & asking them to kiss in front of the camera and we practiced a few poses and holding hand shots. Its not essential to have a pre-wedding shoot but it does iron out all the embarrassment and awkwardness of not knowing me and me not knowing you.

By the time we’d finished this shoot we were laughing and mucking around for a good hour, so come their Wedding we will know each other like friends. Everything will therefore be perfect!

You dont have to be getting married to have a gorgeous couples shoot like this – please contact me for more details as I’d love to tell you all about it xx

A ‘Newborn Lifestyle’ shoot in Camden…

One of the most exciting parts of my business is when I get that call from a couple whose wedding I shot a while ago, telling me they’re expecting a baby!!! – and will I do their ‘Newborn’ shoot? The answer is always “DEFINITELY YES” of course!!!

Sarah & Riz have just had the most wonderful addition to their family, beautiful baby Faris. They live up in Camden, London so I popped up to theirs one day just before Christmas. Sometimes the best way to photograph a newborn baby is in the comfort of their own home. Its warm & comfortable with familiar smells & noises. This way you can also have more of a ‘lifestyle‘ shoot too. Capturing all the details of your lives, recording just where you were at that moment in time. That way if you ever move in the future you’ve got a perfect memory of life as it was when your baby was born.

I love this kind of shoot and the personal attachment it has to the people involved. Sarah & Riz have just the coolest flat in one of the trendiest of places ever. I couldn’t resist shooting loads of their furniture too! Baby Faris was quiet and calm and spent most of his time asleep. It was all just so perfect!

Please do get in touch if your interested in this kind of shoot. It doesn’t have to only be for newborn babies. This type of lifestyle shoot would be perfect for families and couples too. x

A Family Shoot on Bexhill Beach…

I’m not from Bexhill in East Sussex but I seem to be shooting there quite abit lately. I love the beach here and its also a great half way point to meet people at the De La Warr Museum if they’re coming from the direction of Hastings or Battle.

Just before Christmas last year I met Caroline and her gorgeous family for a family shoot on the beach. Caroline had signed up for the ‘Christmas Family Portrait Offer that I ran last year. For only £50 she had her shoot, an online gallery and a gorgeous printed canvas to show off her favourite image.

If your interested in a family lifestyle shoot like this then please do get in touch via phone, email or my website

Organising is simple – we’ll simply chat on the phone and arrange a date, then ideally I will come to you first and meet with you all. We can discuss your printing options and look at some of my samples. Then you can show me the spaces on your walls that you’re thinking of filling. This way we already have an idea of colours, sizes and shapes before we begin. Then we can all walk to your favourite park or spot on the beach and start shooting. The shoot is always fun and relaxed and takes just over an hour. This is so I can get as much variation as possible so you have plenty of great images to choose from later.

After your shoot – Once your edit if complete I will invite you to my studio for a viewing. This can also be done in your own home if thats an easier option for you. Then we can view your gallery together and I can help you decide the best way to showcase your favourites.

Its a fantastic way to record precious family memories and to stop time for a moment while we take a breather from our busy lives, to make the most of our children whilst they are young. Saying that though this also works for families with older children or grandparents, or just couples.

For more information please see my website information pages or view the lifestyle gallery

Kim and Ben’s Winter Wedding at Blackstock Farm…

I was so excited to shoot Kim and Ben’s fabulous Wedding at the end of last year. Not only because they are a super cool, gorgeous couple but also their Wedding was at Blackstock Farm, a venue I now know and love.

The details that they’d added to the venue just brought the whole barn theme alive. From tiny honey wedding favors and sticks of lavender tied up with string to their ‘naked’ Wedding cake, the whole vibe was vintage and homemade. Kim’s hair was just fantastic, a totally gorgeous vintage do by Aimee Fenn and her beautiful make-up was by Christina Jessel, I would totally recommend both these ladies if you’re looking for hair and makeup artists for your Wedding!

Its always a challenge to shoot a Wedding in December as it gets dark SO early but we managed to slip outside right after the ceremony, squeezing in between the freezing rain drops and got some of my most favourite couple shots ever. The clouds were heavy but the light was soft and clear. Five minutes later it was dark so the rain didn’t worry anyone.

Trashing the Dress on Eastbourne Beach…

Sometimes what seem to be the simplest idea’s for shoots and weddings turn out to be the most fun. Laura and Steve got married at the end of December last year with just their closest family members and me tagging along. The ceremony was at Kings Church and then after a short limo ride of about 5 minutes we were on Eastbourne Seafront. It was a dull, cold and very blustery day. I wouldn’t even like to guess at the temperature of the sea water, although I did end up sitting in it at one point.

Laura had filled washing up liquid bottles with poster paints and didn’t mind at all what state her dress ended up in (£100 from ebay!), plus I think the added adrenalin from finally getting married turned both Laura and Steve into ‘super hero’s’ as they definitely didn’t care how cold the sea was. I loved shooting every minute of this and considered it a real treat to be a part of this tiny wedding party – thank you for having me there guys and CONGRATULATIONS xxxx
